f you can turn a crank, you can make good copies, and up to 100 of them per minute!
With the Spirit Fluid Process, you can duplicate in one to five colors simultaneously − Purple, Red, Green, Blue, or Black – depending upon the color of the aniline dye-impregnated carbon sheet used in preparing the master. The duplicator is the device that brings the master, fluid, and blank paper together to produce the copy. Each sheet is automatically fed into the machine, moistened with spirit fluid
(methanol alcohol)
that will dissolve a small portion of the dye image when pressed against the master by the impression roller, then ejected and stacked onto the receiving tray, all accomplished within less than a second per copy. One copy is made for each clockwise revolution of the operating crank and delivered into the receiving tray face up. Master loading is quick by simply turning the crank handle counter-clockwise once to open the clamp on the cylinder. It has a maximum duplicating area of 9-inches by 14-inches.

A single lever is depressed to engage both the fluid flow and roller pressure for operation. Releasing this lever by lifting it stops the flow of fluid from the tank and eliminates the chance of flat spots occurring on the rollers.
Paper is fed into the machine with a centered dual-wheel paper feed unit, dual metal paper guide-mounted retainers, and a paper weight on the adjustable back stop. The stainless-steel feed table holds approximately 200 sheets of 20-pound impression paper. The paper tray can be easily loaded in seconds each time. This machine can accommodate various sizes and weights of both paper and card stock. If desired, the feeder unit and sheet retainers can simply lift out of the way for hand feeding.
A gravity, air-lock system regulates the flow of fluid to maintain the proper operating level in the reservoir assuring uniform moistening of all copies. Multiple rubber rollers distribute the fluid evenly and quickly. With this style of spirit duplicator, there are no felt wicks to replace. The translucent plastic fluid tank
(shipped empty)
removes easily for refilling; the fluid level is always visible and holds approximately one quart. A built-in level indicator on the top of the fluid tank cover indicates the machine must be operating on a sturdy, level surface for optimum performance and to avoid flooding. There is also a useful drain located on the back of the duplicator for emptying any remaining fluid from the fountain before physically moving the duplicator.
A three-step variable impression roller dial controls the copy intensity. Registration adjustments are quick and easy. If necessary, the image’s position can be easily raised by the frame-mounted registration control. The machine also has a resettable, three-digit copy counter to keep tally of the number of copies printed.
Finished copies are automatically ejected and stacked face-up in the receiving tray with the aid of an adjustable chrome back stop that accommodates various lengths of impression paper. There is a built-in three-digit, re-settable copy counter to keep tally of the number of copies reproduced.
