This token is believed to have been struck circa 1898. It is made of brass with a plating of gold. The tiny 9 mm charm is smaller than a dime. The total weight of the piece is 0.26 grams.
This token is catalogued by Mike Locke as a Klondike Charm. It has a Midnight Sun Face obverse and a KLONDIKE CHARM with Star reverse. These are quite rare; like a dragon's teeth. I suspect a linkage to the Maine & Old Glory tokens based on the similarity in planchets and loops. Klondike Charms originally came with an attached stick pin.
This piece is not denominated and is not legal tender; just an unusual and very rare token.
This charm is in choice Almost Uncirculated to Brilliant Uncirculated condition. Piece is very attractive with great detail and color. Light toning is noted. What an interesting and beautiful piece!
