Here is a vintage Paymaster Check Writer & Protector - Check Writer Company Inc.
I am not familiar with exactly how this equipment works but I can set an amount and when I pull the lever it resets all the numbers to zero and each individual number setting returns to its zero setting, so it works in that regard.
