Description
This is a pair of 1950's era leather Rieker Brand Ski Boots. They are lace up type boots with a double boot construction. They have a lace inner boot and an outer boot that also laced up. They are size 7 1/2 but we surely do not recommend ever using them for skiing. We do, however, recommend them as unique decor items for any ski lodge or mountain cabin. Each boot weighs about 3 pounds and is 11 inches long.Rieker boots such as these were once considered the state of the art in skiing footwear. They were made in Tuttingen, Germany. Our antiques expert places them being made in the late 1950's-early 1960's. (If anyone is still alive that remembers wearing a pair of these, they will probably mention how darn cold your toes got in them. True pain! Even worse, they were designed to be used in bear trap type bindings that were likely to result in a broken leg about every time on the slopes.) They come with a Tyrol Boot Clamp/Holder designed to help carry them but also prevent them from warping after being soaking wet. We invite your offer and can ship them within the U.S. very inexpensively.
